Dr. B S Anil Chandra

A native of Chennai, Dr. Anil Chandra is an Ophthalmologist of 12 years with a command over Cataract and Refractive Surgery procedures.

Dr. Chandra, an MBBS graduate from Stanley Medical College and Hospital, Chennai is MS (Ophthalmology) trained post graduate from Madurai Medical College and Hospital, Madurai. The given formal education in conjunction with the combined knowledge acquired through special training in General Surgery and Fellowship program in Phacoemulsification provided Dr. Chandra a cutting edge experience in surgical skills concerning the eye.

Initially, Dr. Chandra delved in private practice. Succeeding this, Dr. Chandra spent the next few years as a Consultant Phaco Surgeon at Prems’ Eye Clinic, Chennai and a Senior Consultant Phaco and Refractive Surgeon at Vasan Eye Care Hospital, Saidapet, Chennai before laying the foundation of an independent set-up Dr. Anil Chandra Eye Clinic at Adyar.

Dr. Chandra’s professional work experience includes over 50,000 Phacoemulsification surgeries and more than 1,000 ICL and Lasik surgeries. Similarly, he holds a broad experience in IOLs and ICLs implantation techniques. Dr. Chandra can be regarded as one of the principal doctors to perform S-MICS and Transcanalicular laser assisted (TCLA)-DCR procedures in India.

Dr. Chandra maintains a strong participation at various regional, national and international conferences. This not only presents him an opportunity to showcase papers but also plays a crucial part in demonstration of live surgeries as a priviledged invited faculty. Over and above this, Dr. Chandra has conducted many instruction courses on laser DCR for ophthalmic surgeons practising in India and overseas. Dr. Chandra holds esteemed membership of several reputed medical societies.

Currently, Dr. Chandra serves as a visiting Consultant Eye Surgeon at A.G. Eye Care Hospital, Venkateswara Hospital, St. Isabel's Hospital, St.Thomas Hospital, Fortis-Malar Hospital, Aditya Kamaraja Eye Hospital, all located in Chennai.
